One quart of soup + a hearty serving of bread! Choose on site from either a lentil soup with cumin, garlic, lemon, and sunflower seeds, prepared by Urban Canopy's Ethan Fischer from a recipe provided by chef Abra Berens, author of the cookbooks Grist and Ruffage, or an herby black-eyed pea soup with spring onions and greens prepared by Allison Scott at Floriole. Both soups are vegan and gluten free. Pick up is from 5-7 pm at the Hideout (1354 W. Wabansia in Chicago) on April 27, 2022. Bread is donated by Publican Quality Bread and Middlebrow. All proceeds from this month's Soup & Bread go to Pilsen Food Pantry, which has been providing food and supportive services to Chicagoans on the north side for fifty-four years.
